Description Purpleheart is a striking and highly distinctive hardwood, renowned for its vivid purple colouring and impressive strength. When freshly cut, the timber may appear greyish-brown, gradually developing into its characteristic rich purple tone upon exposure to light. Dense, durable, and visually unique, Purpleheart is an excellent choice for both structural and decorative applications. Features: Species: Purpleheart (Peltogyne spp.) Appearance: Vibrant purple heartwood, deepening and darkening with age and light exposure Texture: Fine to medium grain with a natural lustre Workability: Very dense and strong; machines and turns well with sharp tools, and finishes to a smooth, polished surface Applications:Suitable for furniture making, flooring, turning projects, tool handles, decorative accents, and contrast detailing in fine woodworking. Note:Colour will naturally change over time, typically deepening to a darker purple-brown. As a natural timber, variations in grain and tone are to be expected.
